Blessed priest scoops €500k in Lotto win & vows to share it

He was ordained in his native Ireland on June 21, 1964, and went to the Archdioces­e of Miami that August. In May 1995, Msgr Delaney began serving at All Hallows Seminary in Ireland while assisting seasonally at St Helen, Fort Lauderdale. He retired in March 2004.

Last Saturday he heard he had one of the two winning Euromillio­ns Plus tickets.

He said: “I didn’t get too excited when I first heard.

“I went back to the shop and gave the ticket to the same girl I bought it from to be checked.

“Lo and behold there was a message on the system to contact the National Lottery, so I knew then I had won.”
