Serena in a parent trap
SERENA WILLIAMS was beaten in her first match since becoming a mother.
Williams, who gave birth in September, lost 2-6 6-3 (5-10) against Jelena Ostapenko in an exhibition match in Abu Dhabi.
“First matches back are always hard,” said Serena.
“Motherhood is phenomenal. I was a little worried out there – I looked at my camp and asked ‘is Olympia OK?’, but it’s good to be back on the court.”
World No.16 Andy Murray will begin his preparations for the Australian Open at this week’s ATP Brisbane International.
