TAVERNIER: TWO BAD FOR THEM

- BY SCOTT MCDERMOTT

JAMES TAVERNIER says he knew Celtic were on the ropes when Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair got the hook.

The Ibrox defender has got used to seeing the Hoops duo excel in this fixture scoring goals between them against Gers last term.

But Tavernier insists when he saw Brendan Rodgers sub both during the 0-0 draw at Celtic Park, it gave Graeme Murty’s men a lift.

He said: “We feel we should have three points. We created some really good chances in the second half.

“We grew in confidence after getting in at half-time 0-0. They had a couple of chances but we were still in the game.

“Dembele and Sinclair both came off for them and they’re two big players for Celtic.

“They both did well against us last season so that was a little psychological boost for us to see them going off.

“It was a good feeling when players like that are subbed. Our lads did well against all of their best players.”
