BLUES FANCY IT NOW

-

HERE’S how fickle football can be.

Three weeks ago, just about every single one of my many, many Everton friends were praying the derby would be snowed off.

They were so convinced their team would get gubbed at Anfield they were hoping the game could be cancelled.

Now, they are all looking forward to Friday’s FA Cup tie at Liverpool with the real belief they can win it... and I have to agree with that assessment.

Don’t get me wrong, Jurgen Klopp’s men are still massive favourites, but Sam Allardyce has got Everton sorted out defensively, stopped them making stupid mistakes and got some confidence into them.

They have a chance at Anfield, depending on what team Klopp (above) plays... and I think he may need to play his strongest side because City have already won the league, so the FA Cup becomes the biggest chance of silverware now.

It’s not just Liverpool. Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and United also know the title race is over and they need trophies to keep the fans happy – and the FA Cup is still huge for the supporters.
