SPIRIT LEVELS MUST BE RIGHT

- BY SIMON MULLOCK

PEP GUARDIOLA has warned the team spirit which has put Manchester City on course for the Quadruple will be tested to the limit next month.

City play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park today – but could face EIGHT games in January.

Boss Guardiola admitted: “I am worried about January because we are in four competitions and I don’t know if we will be able to do it.

“We cannot play every three days at our best. I’m not just talking about the Premier League.

“We have Bristol City in the Carabao Cup. They are not a Premier League team, but we have to be careful because something is going on there.

“We cannot play someone like Kevin De Bruyne (above) every three days for 90 minutes because the players need to be refreshed for the last part of the season.”

But Guardiola is backing his team to cope with the pressure.

He said: “The team spirit with the players and the staff is incredible. Not just 11 players, the group. Everybody dreams of winning. When that happens, anything can happen.”
