Be careful while winter chill bites

-

IRELAND will be colder than Moscow tonight as temperatures plunge well below freezing.

Be careful on the roads after it dipped to -5C last night, particularly in the West and North-west where black ice will pose a hazard.

Freezing fog will also be a danger for motorists and pedestrians. So use fog lights when driving – be safe and be seen.

And the next few days will see the Arctic blast continue, so wrap up warm by day and add another blanket at night.

Spare a thought, too, for the elderly and if you have pensioner neighbours living alone, check on them if you can.

And don’t forget animals.
