Man dies as waves hits beauty spot

A MAN died last night after he was washed into the sea.

The victim was believed to have been taking photos at the base of a cliff at Creeragh off the Dunlicky coast road near Kilkee, Co Clare.

It’s understood he was struck by a wave.

He was taken to hospital by helicopter but later passed away.

The man is believed to be from Hungary, aged 30 and living in Oranmore, Co Galway.

His partner was with him at the time while the alarm was raised around 3.30pm by an onlooker on the cliff.
