Charity dance in memory of fall victim

A CHARITY Valentine’s ball is being held in memory of tragic backpacker Govan Jolliffebyrne.

The 20-year-old was travelling with his friend Gary O’donoghue when he died after falling from a balcony at a nightclub in Tanzania in August 2015.

The event on February 9 will take place at the Wind Sands Hotel in Portmarnock, North Dublin, and proceeds will go towards furnishing a new school in the East African country.

Govan worked as a barman at the Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Club, and played for GAA club Naomh Mearnog.
