Allen’s right to cook up storm

-

CELEBRITY chef Rachel Allen is dead right in calling for schools to bring in compulsory cooking classes to battle childhood obesity.

Youngsters should be taught all about the nutritious value of fresh meat and vegetables – and how to cook them.

Rachel believes we are what we eat – and if kids are eating junk food, they will naturally end up obese.

Cooking, she says, is the most basic life skill of all, the ability to feed oneself. And not enough emphasis is placed on it.

Every child should learn in school how to cook – it doesn’t have to be haute cuisine, just simple everyday good food.
