Torture scene left me dizzy & disorientated... it looks great

Red Rock bad boy reveals explosive plot

“Basically, it was the experience of being waterboarded and we did it and we kept going and going.

“And I stood up and I couldn’t tell which was left and right. My sense of gravity was gone.

“They were asking me to walk this way and I was walking that way and I think my body went into shock for a minute.

“It was very, very strange. It was like real waterboarding and I

Red Rock criminal Keith Kiely tell you, I wouldn’t like to do it again. But the scene looks really, really good.” The Dub said the shocking scene came at the hands of gangsters he falls out with in the show. He added: “Keith is going from strength to strength and getting bigger and worse than ever. “He is making bigger mistakes and then has to pay for them and have his family get him out of those mistakes. “In Keith’s mind he’s not a bad boy but he is definitely developing and he gets beaten up. This year there are a lot of new stunts. I really enjoy doing them and this year they are bigger and better. “There’s blood, I get thrown in the boot of a car, I get a real kicking. “I usually do all the stunts unless Stephen in From The Dark it is something very special and it’s like anything else – the more practice you do, the better you get.

“A couple of times when we were shooting these scenes I was thinking, ‘You are not going to be able to show this stuff because it has really gone up a notch’.

“Keith started as a really low-level kind of guy, into a little bit of crime around the estate, and then expanded to surrounding estates.

COMBAT

“Now he is working with the head gangsters of Dublin and who wants to mess around with them boys?”

The actor revealed he did stage combat as part of his training at the Bull Alley Theatre Company.

Stephen said: “You have to know how to throw a punch and take a punch and be convincing.

“And I have a martial arts background as well. I did taekwondo a couple of years ago and made it up to green belt and Keith and mum Bridget really enjoyed it. But I got a bit distracted and left it behind.”

He added there were six months of Red Rock episodes in the can but none of the cast knew what was going to happen after that.

The former John Player factory in the south inner city, which was home to the show for the past three years, has been sold and Red Rock’s future is uncertain because of huge production costs, despite it being sold to the BBC and Amazon Prime.

Stephen, one of the original cast members, said: “All the sets have been packed away but they could be built again. We are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.

“I do kind of hope it continues but also part of me thinks, ‘I’ve done 197 episodes and maybe even if it does come back – I’m not saying I wouldn’t come back – but maybe it’s time to move on’.

“I’ve just finished Damo & Ivor: The Movie and I’m very excited about that.

“I’ve just finished another movie in Luxembourg called Justice.net which I’m very excited about as well.

“These world corporations are buying up water supplies for maybe malicious intent and it’s about a hacker who is trying to expose what’s going on.

“It’s the first time I’ve done an American accent which is really good.”
