Patsy’s still fighting... this time for women
EASTENDERS battler Patsy Palmer has reinvented herself in Hollywood – as a feminist campaigner.
Patsy, who is famed for getting into scraps as feisty Bianca in the BBC soap, has set up an organisation designed to “connect” women with each other. Her Los Angelesbased group, Commonwealth Lifestyle Foundation, also aims to support females in need.
Patsy, 45, is also championing the Time’s Up crusade against sexual harassment and inequality at work.
She moved to Los Angeles with her family after quitting Eastenders. The foundation represents a huge fresh start for the actress, who once battled drink and drugs.
A source said: “Patsy has completely turned her life around and is a massive champion for women in Hollywood.
“This cause is incredibly import-ant to her. She is supporting and motivating a lot of women through her foundation.”
Patsy has also teamed up with a charity helping homeless women in LA, where she relocated with husband Richard Merkell to give their children a “beachy life”.
She had two spells in Eastenders between 1993-99 and 2008-14.
