BEST-CASE SCENARIO
CASE KEENUM has turned to a Hall of Fame quarterback to help make his Super Bowl dream come true.
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback (left) has emerged over the last four months from a journeyman nobody to the main man on a team many think can go all the way.
After five years bouncing around Houston, St Louis and Los Angeles, Keenum finally earned his chance in September when Sam Bradford went down injured for the season.
The Vikings won 11 of the next 14 games with Keenum at the helm and he has sought advice from Kurt Warner as he prepares for his first playoff game against New Orleans tonight.
Warner, whose career was rescued by a stint in Amsterdam in NFL Europe, stepped into the starting job in St Louis in 1999 thanks to an injury and led the Rams to Super Bowl success five months later.
Keenum said: “I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of emotions going through my mind on Sunday but I’m excited.
“Kurt Warner texted me and had some good things to say. He is somebody I have looked up to for a long time.
“What he said is between us but he is a solid guy, so I appreciated that.”
