Draw sees Connacht top group

- BY DECLAN ROONEY

CONOR CAREY had a late try disallowed that would have given Connacht a deserved win at Sixways yesterday.

But Kieran Keane’s men still wrapped up top spot in Pool 5 with one game to spare thanks to Tiernan O’halloran’s (above) try after 60 minutes.

After less than five minutes Worcester were two tries ahead, Perry Humphreys and Sam Lewis touching down.

Connacht finally settled when John Muldoon picked off the back and scored under the posts and Craig Ronaldson’s conversion made it 12-7.

Humphreys then scored his second try before Niyi Adeolokun sprinted clear to hit back.

Connacht had Quinn Roux and Jarrad Butler sin-binned, and in the 39th minute Josh Adams finished off a move down the left and Warriors led 24-14 at the interval.

Connacht started the second-half impressively and after 54 minutes Ronaldson cut the lead to seven points from the tee.

And O’halloran’s brilliant step off the left saw him run in a converted, levelling try on the hour.
