‘IF WE ROB IT 1-0, THAT SUITS ME’

- BY TOM HOPKINSON

ROB HOLDING will settle for the sort of scoreline Arsenal became famous for under George Graham at Bournemouth today.

Following last season’s 3-3 draw at the Vitality Stadium, the Gunners defender said: “We’ll take 1-0 – 100 per cent. It was a crazy game last year, so I’m looking forward to it.

“Hopefully, we can be better defensively and get a clean sheet again.”

Arsenal kept a good clean sheet at Chelsea in midweek as they held Antonio Conte’s side to a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final.

It was a much-needed boost, coming on the back of the humiliating 4-2 FA Cup defeat the Gunners suffered last week by Nottingham Forest. Holding added: “Chelsea was an important game and proved that we don’t want to put out defensive displays like we did against Forest.

“To go to Chelsea and get a clean sheet was massive for us.”
