TYRONE ace Peter Harte says boss Mickey Harte’s desire to hit the ground running each year has never changed.
The Red Hands are closing in on a remarkable seven-in-a-row of Dr Mckenna Cup titles after returning to the semifinals.
They travel to play Rory Gallagher’s Fermanagh at Brewster Park today and Harte said: “Mickey hasn’t changed in his 17 years or whatever it is in charge of Tyrone – he wants to play as many games in January as he can. We always take the Mckenna Cup seriously.
“Getting a fourth game with the semi-final gives us another chance to work on things and to be competitive, to get another game before we play Galway in the National League.”
Meanwhile, Derry are top of Group B after two narrow wins so only need to draw today with Armagh, a point behind on three, to qualify for the semi-finals.
