He owned a wheel-clamping business and had dated Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. Mark and Gillian, who have sons aged 11 and nine, split in 2012.
In an interview three years ago Gillian said she was not closed to the idea of a relationship with a woman.
So after X Files and Ex Files it could be Same Sex Files. Not right now, though.
Gillian is single – and content. She concludes: “I am very happy today. Very happy with my life and what’s in it.
“I am enjoying motherhood and I’m incredibly happy in my personal life.”
