Lollipop man green light to high 5 kids

-

A COUNCIL has done a Uturn over banning a lollipop man from giving schoolchildren high fives.

Colin Spencer, who has been doing the job for 14 years, was told the practice caused “disruption” at a Stockport primary.

After parents’ protests, town hall chiefs apologised, and now want to encourage lollipop staff ’s “unique personalities”.

Coun Sheila Bailey said: “We got it wrong. Colin is an outstanding public servant and it’s fantastic that he brightens up the day for so many children.”

Colin said: “It was bureaucracy gone mad. This is great news and the children will be pleased.”
