Mother’s fair trial appeal over IS Brits

-

THE mother of a US journalist killed by IS wants captured British jihadis linked to his death to stand trial and to be kept out of Guantanamo Bay.

Diane Foley, whose son James was beheaded in 2014, said Alexanda Kotey, 33, and El Shafee Elsheikh, 28, part of a group of UK insurgents known as The Beatles, must be tried and, if convicted, jailed for life.

She said: “We need to show them what real justice looks like.”

Ms Foley added she was “very against” sending the men to the US detention camp at Guantanamo as it would “perpetuate the hatred”.
