Court action on Weinstein to go ahead
Weinstein A JUDGE has rejected the legal challenge of a €3million sexual assault lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein, his former assistant and two entertainment firms.
The decision on Friday means the case, which alleges the producer twice assaulted an unnamed Toronto actress in 2000, will proceed without changes to the woman’s statement.
The challenge was by Weinstein’s ex-assistant Barbara Schneeweiss, who argued claims concerning her were not in relation to alleged attacks and were subject to an expired statute of limitations.
Canadian Justice Patrick Monohan, who heard the case, disagreed with the objection.
