Green with envy at eco collection

H&M uses recycled & organic materials

-

FASHION is going green for SS18 with high street giant H&M’S latest eco-friendly collection. Sweden takes the global battle against climate change seriously and more than half the country’s energy supply comes from renewables.

It comes as no surprise one of its leading retailers H&M continues to push boundaries by using recycled and organic material.

The 2018 Conscious Exclusive collection – featuring 90s supermodel Christy Turlington and set to hit shelves in April – pays homage to the arts and crafts movement in Sweden.

It also takes inspiration from the creative home of 20th century artists Karin and Carl Larsson. The collection features delicate accessories made out of discarded candlesticks and dresses – including a lace wedding dress made out of fishnets.

H&M is forward-thinking when it comes to materials, by introducing ECONYL and recycled silver to the line.

Creative advisor Ann-sofie Johansson said: “The sustainable innovation never ceases to amaze.”

Womenswear focuses on head-totoe prints and bright colours in the form of flowing full-length dresses, easy tunics worn over trousers, and utilitarian tailoring.

The collection will be available to buy online from February 28 and in selected stores around the world from March 1.
