The terrifyingly realistic combat game UFC leaps out from the screens of next-gen consoles.

Graphics are so sharp that you can see the beads of sweat from your opponent as you slam them down on to the mat.

But the biggest hurdle fans of the fighting franchise will have to overcome is the control system. The interface for grappling can be frustrating and difficult to get your head around.

However, combat in general is far more enjoyable with the improved bobbing and weaving system, and gameplay is much more fluid due to improvements to the striking system. The career mode is also a significant improvement over past games.

Outside of fighting, players will make promotional choices to build hype, gain fans, earn more cash and capture the world’s attention.

Multiplayer modes include Stand & Bang, Submission Showdown, and the new Tournament.
