Lotto luck as 5 players win over €500k in mega draw

Bergin’s in Clonmel FIVE Irish players each won more than €500,000 in Friday’s monster €177million Lotto draw.

Four lucky people took home €500,000 when their Plus numbers came up.

But one Cork punter became an instant millionair­e after winning the one-off raffle.

The winning ticket was sold in Easons in the city’s Wilton Shopping Centre.

Manager Martina Walsh said: “Just last August we sold a winning ticket worth over €250,000 so you could definitely say we’re a lucky Lotto shop.”

Meanwhile, Ireland had four winners of the Plus top prize for the first time in Euromillio­ns history.

It has been revealed all winners of the €500,000 prize bought their Quick Pick tickets on either Thursday or Friday.

Two of the winning stores were in Co Tipperary – Bergin’s Foodfair in Clonmel and Michael O’brien’s Spar in Borrisokan­e.

The other lucky outlets were John O’sullivan’s Spar in Ballymany Shopping Centre, Newbridge, Co Kildare and Walsh’s Daybreak Store at Cork Road, Waterford.
