€33k jail job for Pagan to lead worship
Druids are Pagans HARD-UP prison chiefs are advertising a €33,000 job with a civil service pension and generous holidays – for a Pagan.
The part-time post, which will involve working at three jails, means running workshops and “delivering pastoral care”.
The successful applicant will also need to perform rites of passage ceremonies and do “the broader work of chaplaincy”.
Paganism covers a wide range of beliefs and topics, including Druids, Wiccans, heathens, witchcraft and Celtic traditions.
The job is based at Dartmoor jail and also covers Channings Wood and Exeter nicks, all in Devon.
The prison system in the county has been hit by funding cuts, industrial action and suicides. Blue Planet
