Irish star Jessie is described as top UK actress
In War & Peace Jessie Buckley star to play Nancy in Oliver! in London’s West End. She was the judges’ favourite but came second to Jodie Prenger in the public vote. The talented musician, who plays the clarinet, piano and harp, went on to star in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music in London in 2008 opposite Maureen Lipman. A graduate of the famed Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, she appeared on stage opposite Jude Law in Henry V in 2013 and then The Winter’s Tale in 2015. Her big TV break came in 2016 playing Marya Bolkonskaya in War And Peace where she ended up dating her co-star James Norton, who played her brother Prince Andrei and who was recently seen in Mcmafia. Last year she played Lorna Bow in the period drama Taboo and Honor Martin in another BBC series The Last Post.
