Ancient site find in Egypt

EGYPTIAN archaeologists have discovered an ancient graveyard containing 40 stone coffins.

They also unearthed 1,000 small statues and a necklace charm bearing the hieroglyphic inscription “happy new year”.

The site near Cairo, which is more than 2,000 years old, is expected to take another five years to excavate.

Antiquities expert Mostafa Waziri said: “This is a message sent to us from the afterlife.”
