Try an awe

-

For our last few days we just stopped, and devoted our time to feeling refreshed ourselves. And, I admit, to the food and the 21 places to eat. Yes it’s a resort and there’s always a buffet, whether you want a chilled-out one by the Caribbean pool, or more formal by the beach or – our lunchtime favourite – jerk chicken and Southern fried steaks, Kids will love the pools and waterparks only when you leave the resort that you can see the awful damage caused by Hurricane Irma, which tore through only six months ago.

Beaches was also badly hit – it closed down completely for a couple of months and took the chance to refurbish and refresh. Cinema screen on the beach tacos and salad to the sound of the waves at Arizona restaurant. You can also have breakfast, lunch or supper cooked for you, a la carte – whole lobster tails, jerk mahi-mahi, rack of lamb or sushi.

Don’t miss the perfectly done scallops and beef short-rib with succotash at the rooftop Sky restaurant. Or the meltingly soft tuna tartare at Schooners.

Between meals, we spent our last few days simply snorkelling at a small reef a 10-minute stroll down the beach (just past the emergency Jerk Shack).
