IT’S EDDIE GROANS
EDDIE JONES saw dismal England surrender the Calcutta Cup – then claimed the shambles was all his fault.
A ruck in the tunnel, a yellow card for Sam Underhill, some powder-puff defence, 13 penalties conceded all added up to a desperate day for England.
Scots fly-half Finn Russell was Man of the Match but it could have been any one of about half a dozen of the men in blue.
A dismal first half when England conceded three tries to trail by 16 points, 22-6, at half-time put the writing on the wall for Jones’ mob before improving in the second half. Jones (inset) said: “I will have to have a look at how I prepare the team and work out how to do it better. “I have got to take responsibility for performance. These are lessons you don’t want to have but they are the best lessons in the world. It is a great lesson for us. “Scotland beat us at the breakdown and were able to cut holes in us and that was disappointing. I apologise for our performance.” SCOTLAND:
