TD fears as economy ‘not Brexit-ready’
LARGE parts of the Irish economy are not Brexitready, a TD has warned.
Following British PM Theresa May’s speech on Friday, Fianna Fail has demanded the Government ensures the protection of the export sector.
The party’s foreign affairs and trade spokesman Darragh O’brien said: “The Prime Minister acknowledged leaving the single market will result in less access to the British market.
“Therefore, the Irish Government and European colleagues must ensure every effort is made to support all export sectors across Ireland.
“Large parts of our economy that trade heavily with Britain are frankly not Brexit ready.”
