Terror group claims attack

A Mali-based affiliate of al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for attacks in neighbouring Burkina Faso.

News agency Alakhbar reported the assault in the capital Ouagadougou killed eight people at the army headquarters and French embassy.

It said the attacks were carried out in response to the killing of one of Jama’a Nusrat ul-islam wa al-muslimin’s leaders by French forces.
