Car ‘strike’ on 1760s bridge
A BRIDGE from the 1760s was badly damaged by a car feared to have been driven into it deliberately.
A burned-out motor was found on the bridge on the River Poulter in Dukeries, Notts, at 8am yesterday.
The National Trust, which owns the Grade Ilisted Clumber Park site, said it appeared to be “intentional vandalism” that had resulted in significant structural damage. Police are investigating.
