End of road in fuel sign trial

-

A TRIAL of electronic signs comparing fuel prices at motorway services to boost competition has been declared a flop.

Five M5 stops between Bristol and Exeter have used them since March 2016. But Highways England said there was no evidence they cut prices.

The RAC said: “All it’s proved is motorway fuel is expensive wherever you buy it.” The signs will now be decommissioned.
