KFC couriers top payday loans league
WORKERS at the courier firm behind the KFC chicken shortage are resorting to payday loans to make ends meet.
DHL staff borrowed hundreds last month – just as the KFC crisis struck.
Figures from loan firm Cashlady show they topped a league table of borrowers in central England. Most needed money to pay bills.
Cashlady boss Chris Hackett said: “Our consumer index reveals DHL employees regularly seek emergency financial help. It will be a further blow to the organisation.”
Hundreds of KFC shops had to close temporarily after running out of chicken. The firm had just signed a supplier deal with DHL and blamed “teething problems”.
