129 refugees land in Dublin

THE last group of people to be relocated under the Irish Refugee Protection Programme have been welcomed by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.

Some 129 Syrians landed in Dublin on Friday.

The flight brought 73 adults and 56 children, 36 of whom are under 12.

The arrival into Baldonnel Air Base brings the number of asylum seekers to 1,022 in addition to 792 who have already been granted refugee status.
