Animals on brink of extinction… all thanks to humans

Sudan’s death aged 45 leaves two females, making IVF the only hope for the species to survive.

Heather Sohl, WWF’S chief wildlife adviser, said: “His death is devastatin­g. We’re seeing the extinction of the northern white rhino happen right before our eyes, driven by the demand for their horns.

“And many other threats to wildlife at the hands of humans are also on the rise.”
