Heartache as 1912 Cup Final medal nicked

AN FA Cup winners’ medal from more than 100 years ago has been stolen in a house raid.

Now the family of Barnsley player Philip Wright Bratley has appealed for help to find it.

Centre half Philip won the distinctiv­e medal, engraved with his name, in a 1912 final replay against West Brom.

It was among other items burgled from his 82-year-old grandson’s Rotherham home.

South Yorkshire Police said the medal was “invaluable” to the family. Barnsley FC have made a Twitter appeal to find it.
