New plans to revamp Clerys site
Old Clerys store PLANS have been lodged to convert the former Clerys store into a city centre hotspot.
The new application is for the “refurbishment, extension and partial change” of the site and includes cafes, bars, offices and shops in Dublin.
There are also proposals for a terraced restaurant with a view over the city, and a rooftop seating area linked to a hotel.
OCS Properties’ initial plans were postponed last year after An Bord Pleanala granted a hearing to a group opposing the demolition of the site on O’connell Street.
Around 460 workers lost their jobs when Clerys closed down in 2015 following its takeover by Natrium Limited.
