HEARTACHE AS BODY OF MISSING MAN FOUND AFTER HUGE SEARCH

THE body of a man who was last seen on Monday has been found.

Malachy Brennan, 63, was reported missing from his home in Borrisokan­e, Co Tipperary.

A public appeal was launched by his family and gardai for informatio­n on his whereabout­s.

Searches involving members of the public, Garda, Coast Guard, fire service, Nenagh Ormond Search and Rescue and the Civil Defence were launched.

Gardai confirmed yesterday morning the remains of the man, pictured, has been recovered.

In a statement, they said: “The body of Malachy Brennan, 63, who was missing from his home since April 2 has been located deceased, no further action required. Gardai wish to thank the media and public for their assistance.” TD Michael Lowry expressed his sympathies to the Brennan family and thanked those who helped in the search. He said: “I pray that the finding of Mal will bring everyone some comfort at this difficult time. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam. May he rest in peace.”
