It’s time to put my lawn out to grass

I’ve always struggled to keep my lawn looking good and it’s now in a really bad shape after winter. Do I need to dig it up and start again? Mark, Eastbourne DAVID: It really depends. You can re-seed dead patches, water and use a spring fertiliser to give it a boost, but if you’ve always struggled then it may be that you have the wrong grass type, so you may need to start again. Check your conditions before buying new seed or turf.
