IT’S MILLER TIME FOR DERBY

- BY SCOTT MCDERMOTT

KENNY MILLER fired Rangers back up to second in the table then begged Graeme Murty to let him loose on Celtic.

The veteran striker returned to the fold against Dundee and scored in a 4-0 win. Now the 38-year-old insists he’s ready for an Old Firm battle in next Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.

Miller said: “I’d relish the chance to go in against Celtic. It’s a massive game, a Cup semi-final and we want to win the trophy.

“If selected, I’d be delighted to play because it will be a fantastic occasion. Hopefully I can keep the jersey now.”

After Miller’s opener, goals from Alfredo Morelos, Jamie Murphy and Daniel Candeais wrapped up the points.

Gaffer Murty praised the frontman, whose future is up in the air with his one-year deal set to expire this summer. With Josh Windass still a major doubt for Hampden, the Rangers boss said: “Kenny brings an understanding of the level he needs to be at to perform. He has put himself in the frame now.”
