Bale’s pain Jose’s gain
ZINEDINE ZIDANE has revealed Gareth Bale is unhappy at Real Madrid – putting Manchester United on red alert to make a sensational swoop.
The Welshman (above) was an unused substitute in Real’s 3-0 win at Juve in the Champions League and barely celebrated any of the team’s goals.
Zidane said: “He is not in a good mood, but that’s
normal. Players want to play in every game. We know what a good player he is and what he has done.”
Bale is Madrid’s second-top scorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo this season but has been left out of the biggest games.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move to bring Bale back from Spain and Zidane’s comments will add to the uncertainty surrounding the player’s future.
When asked if he thought Bale would still be at the Bernabeu next season Zidane admitted he could not give any guarantees.
He said: “My feeling is that he will stay but I don’t know everything that will happen.
“It’s my job to try and make sure he plays as well as always. He’s an important player but others played against Juventus and did very well. That’s football.”
While his fellow substitutes wildly celebrated Ronaldo’s outrageous overhead kick goal against Juventus, Bale barely reacted.
