I would wake up at a decent time after a short lie in.

I’d put on my slippers and dressing gown, make a fresh cup of coffee and get my fiancé, rugby player Harry Rowland, cooking up a healthy breakfast - I’m a terrible cook!

We’d then head out to Wimbledon Common in south west London with the dog for a couple of hours. We leave our phones at home as we spend so much time looking at a screen during the week.

Next I’d meet up with family for a Sunday roast in a cosy pub.

On Sundays I relax my rules. As a performer, I find alcohol doesn’t have a great effect on my voice. But if I don’t have a performance the next day, red wine and prosecco is always welcome or a pint of Guinness if the rugby is on.

Afterwards, we’d head home and watch a film with a good glass of red wine.

It may seem a little boring but to me, time off and Sundays are all about family and winding down.

Laura Wright performs at the 2018 Randox Health Grand National Festival at Aintree Racecourse this week (April 12 – 14). Tickets at
