Revered coach claims Mcgregor ‘attack’ was an elaborate stunt
BOXING coach Brian Mckeown last night dismissed Mcgregor’s UFC meltdown as an “elaborate publicity stunt”.
Cavan-based Mckeown, who coached Olympic medallist John Joe Nevin, said he believed the entire episode was “rigged” for maximum exposure.
The boxing expert, who is also a
Sinn Fein councillor, told how he would not be surprised to see Mcgregor return to the UFC.
He added: “The reason they are leaving the door open, they know it is only a publicity stunt. The more column inches they get the more publicity they get, the more the ordinary man in the street will be attracted to it. You have to admire Mcgregor for what he has done, he has made a fortune.”
