If Russia fires back it will be an act of war
THE situation in Syria meant some form of military action had to be taken.
Hopefully this tailored, focused strike will make President Bashar al-assad and the rest of the world realise it’s wrong to use chemical weapons.
President Assad is stupid if he’s considering deploying them again. MILITARY VIEW
Attacks like yesterday’s become incremental. This one may have been a limited “pinprick” strike by the UK, US and France. The next one may be a
great big hammer. Theresa May was right not to go to Parliament. If she had evidence of a chemical attack that would have added extra complications.
Prime Ministers and governments need to have the ability to do this. What Mrs May did was right, but she will face a huge backlash. I don’t see Russia firing missiles, that would be an act of war, a huge escalation.
I think, in a way, Putin will be happy to allow this to fade away.
But for the people of Syria, the most important thing is for the civil war to end. As the conflict goes on thousands and thousands more people will die.
