Appeal judge to give ruling on Alfie care

- BY PHIL CARDY

Dad Tom with Alfie ALFIE Evans’ parents will tomorrow hear whether the toddler can carry on receiving treatment to keep him alive.

The UK Court of Appeal will reconsider the case after dad Tom Evans, 21, and mum Kate James, 20, fought a ruling to end care.

The pair want to take 23-month-old Alfie to Rome for treatment after confrontations with staff at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

Yesterday 80 supporters of the family staged a day of protest which followed angry scenes last week.

Chanting “We are Alfie’s Army” they got beeps of support from motorists.

Alfie has a degenerative brain disease. His parents claim police warned them not to remove him from the intensive care unit.
