Appeal over 30yr murder sentence fails
A FRENCH gardener jailed for battering his British lover to death after she left him has failed in an appeal over his 30-year sentence.
Jean-louis Cayrou, 56, was instead told on Friday he will spend at least two decades in prison until he is considered for parole.
The Herault Assizes, in Montpellier, heard grisly new details about Cayrou’s butchering of Patricia Wilson, whose body has never been found.
She disappeared from her home in Vabre-tizac in August 2012.
Judge Manon Brignol said there was “overwhelming evidence” against Cayrou including fingerprints at the scene.
