- BY GERARD COUZENS

THE driver who killed a British dad of three while over the limit has been spared prison.

American Bryan Leeds, 25, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Phillip Rasmussen – finance boss of Welsh tech firm IQE – in Menorca on April 1.

Phillip, 47, whose children are aged 15 to 21, was hit from behind on his bicycle at 11am as he rode back to his holiday home.

Leeds also failed a drugs test due to amphetamines taken for a medical condition. He was given a oneyear suspended sentence after a plea bargain in the island’s capital of Mahon.

IQE boss Drew Nelson said Phillip, from Cardigan, was “a great colleague and an accomplished CFO”.

The firm makes components for Apple iphones.
