Young bard’s life centre stage

A chance to see the 10-part American drama first aired on TNT last year which tells the story of a young William Shakespeare. The first episode will be shown on Wednesday at 9pm with Virgin on-demand viewers able to binge-watch the entire series straight afterwards. The thriller stars Laurie Davidson, right, as the struggling young bard with Olivia Dejonge as the object of his affections, Alice Burbage, and our very own Colm Meaney as James Burbage. For anyone unfamiliar with the life story of William Shakespeare, he travels to London to try and make some money to send home to his wife and three kids. He befriends a theatre company after selling them one of his plays and falls in love with the young daughter of the theatre owner (Meaney).
