Klopp: We were just fantastic

- BY JOHN RICHARDSON

JURGEN KLOPP saluted his players after “a fantastic and intense game” which proved that Liverpool were up for the Premier League challenge.

Klopp had warned his players not to bask in the glory of their Champions League triumph against Manchester City.

But after their win over Bournemouth which sent Liverpool 10 points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea, Klopp said: “It was fantastic, a brilliant game.

“The first 60 minutes was outstanding. We were so aggressive and at the right level. We also scored some fantastic goals. Look at the last 10 minutes we were so intense.”

His fun boy three of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Robert Firmino all scored to make it an incredible 82 goals between them.

Klopp added: “Fantastic and we could have had more goals. But now we have to keep this going until the end of the season. We have to keep fighting.”

Klopp also praised Alex Oxlade-chamberlain, whose game has gone from strength to strength.

He said: “This today was a proper midfield display with his speed and movement.”

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admitted: “Liverpool are growing as a team. They were excellent and made life difficult for us.”

Salah is now on 40 goals in all competitions with skipper Jordan Henderson insisting: “He is brilliant.

“He’s got to keep on going if he is going to end up as top scorer.”
