18-year-old is killed in tragic road accident

FRIENDS have paid tribute to a big-hearted teenage driver who died in a twocar crash yesterday.

Named locally as 18-year-old David Lekerauskas, it’s understood he was travelling home from his job in a chicken factory when the collision happened.

The young man’s car hit another vehicle on the Dublin Road, Kingscourt, Co Cavan, at around 1.55am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second car, a 19-year-old man, was uninjured.

Pal Conor Callaghan posted: “I love you to bits brother, I’m heartbroken.”
