€1m a day spent on Brexit in year
THE first year of Brexit preparations has cost Britain €392million – spent by just six government departments.
And this year the same six are expected to fork out almost €1billion.
The figures were revealed by the Best for Britain campaign, set up to oppose leaving the EU.
They found almost €1million a day spent on Brexit so far – enough for 2,403 nurses, 3,000 police and 2,357 fire fighters.
Best for Britain CEO Eloise Todd said: “This is the shocking opportunity
Eloise Todd cost of Brexit. It could provide public services with thousands of staff.”
The cash is being spent by the departments for Exiting the European Union and for International Trade, as well as those for business, environment and food, the Home Office and Customs.
